- This seminar provides an introduction to Choice Theory and Reality Therapy. Choice Theory Psychology is an explanation of human behavior. Reality Therapy seeks to change human behavior in the direction of greater personal strength and responsibility. It teaches that people are responsible for their behavior with themselves and others. The Biggest Mistakes Counselors Make In Private Practice And How To Avoid Them
- Often counselors see “Private Practice” as the opportunity to have freedom and self-direction. A person gets awarded a contract with a government agency ro a school as an SAP and builds their practice on this foundation. They underestimate the importance of a business plan, a marketing plan, financial reporting and analysis. They also underestimate the impact of working without co-workers, struggle to get clinical supervision applicable to their goals and experience burnout. This seminar explores these topics in detail and participants leave with an action plan to improve their business and professional efforts.
